What we are doing
The purpose of this site is allow groups to work together to create stories.
How we are going to do this
The site is going to allow users to create stories with input from their friends and family. Our goal is to create a solid environment for such a task. We want users to receive part of the ad revenue from a revenue sharing arrangement on the site. This will allow people that create content to be paid for their efforts.
Currently there is only one project but keep checking back for more projects on the list to the left.
Where We Stand In The Process
We are currently in the very early phase of this project and will keep you posted on all the details. The blog for the site is a detailed look into this process. Please look over the entries if you are interested.
Server Change (12/8/2007)
We're making a server change on the website. Currently the site is hosted on www.general-hosting.com they seem to be a pretty ok starting place for a website. If you have a simple idea that you want to put up a .net website I would recommend them. We're moving the site to www.discountasp.net they seem to be a better fit for what we need.
The few features we need currently that discountasp offers that are not available on generalhosting are:
AJAX controls for ASP
Being able to set up a task the runs every so often to update certain functions.
Better email management and uptime.
Better communication when we've run into an issue.
Once we've made the move the site will allow me to put polls into each section of the story. This will allow me to expand to expand on the collaboration part of the website.
New Story (12/5/2007)
I've added a new story to the site
Winnebagofight . This is a new story that even if you weren't there I'd appreciate you taking a look and giving some details. I'll try to incorporate them into the tale and see what we come up with.
New Layout for the story project page (11/22/2007)
I've made a pretty major change to the layout of the Hello World Project page.
Blogs
I think this makes sense because each project will have very different information. This will allow the owner of the content to better communicate with everyone. It will also allow people to comment on all of the pages for now since we don't have the commenting piece tied to the other pieces of content as of yet.
Sub Menu
Now there is a submenu on the project page it will allow each project to have the sections it needs to create the story. There will be some common one's like characters maybe story arc but other sections may need to be more fluid. Part of this process will be to determine which sections are used most often because we could then pull some interesting data together such as most actively changed story arc or characters.
